Mrs. Carolyn Houseknecht Barhydt, 100, of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, formerly of Indian Falls and Batavia, died Sunday (April 29, 2001) at the Extendicare Unit of WOHC Etobicoke General Hospital. She was born in Indian Falls and grew up on a farm there. The family also lived on State Street in Batavia at one time. Her husband was the late Charles Barhydt. Surviving are two sons and a daughter, Jim (Fran) Barhydt of Lyndonville, Vt., Gordon (Heather) Barhydt of Westminster, Colo., and Marcia Barhydt of Brampton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a nephew, Charles (Elizabeth) Barhydt; and many other nieces, nephews and relatives. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Scott Funeral Home, 289 Main St. North, Brampton, where services will follow at 8. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Indian Falls Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.
