Funeral services were held at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse O'Dell, five miles west of Cass City, for their daughter, Mrs. Robert Hord, 37, who passed away Monday morning, January 6, in Grace Hospital, Detroit, following a thyroid operation. Rev. Frank B. Smith, pastor of the Cass City Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
Marion O'Dell was born in Brookfield Township, Huron County, on May 16, 1903, and was united in marriage with Robert Hord on October 11, 1930.
Mrs. Hord has been employed as a private secretary to one of the officials of the Burrough's Adding Machine Company in Detroit for the last 15 years.
She is survived by her husband; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse O'Dell, of Cass City; seven brothers, Reader O'Dell, Mikado, Arthur of Flint, John, Mark, Harvey, Quinton and Mack, all of Cass City, and one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Swanson, of Detroit.
A brother, Donald, was killed by lightning a few years ago and another brother, Basil, was killed in an accident while working in the Greenleaf elevator.
