Shonnee was the 1st child of Betty J [Holdeman] & William R Swyers. She was born during WW II. Her dad was inducted into the United States Army Air Corp 32 days before her birth.
Shonnee received a B.S. degree from Florida State University, a Masters degree & post doctor from Georgia State University.
She taught exclusively in the DeKalb county, Ga. public school system & was promoted to an administrative position.
On July 3, 1969, she married Leroy James of Lawrenceville, Georgia. They divorced about 20 years later. No children were born to this marriage.
Shonnee had a great sense of humor & was fun to be with until breast cancer stole her energy. Shonnee was diagnosed with breast cancer in the late 1980's. She was considered cancer free for almost 20 years. In Dec 2005, the breast cancer was detected again. She died 5 months later.
Shonnee is survived by 1 sister, 2 brothers, 2 nieces & a nephew.
