Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., today (Wednesday), at Liberty Cemetery, Long Lane, with the Rev. Richard Prater officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo.

Danny Phillip Webb was born May 20, 1944, in Stratton, Colo., the son of Helen (Pierson) Wilcox and the late Donald Webb. He died Feb. 10, 2003, at his home near Long Lane, at the age of 58 years, eight months and 21 days.

He spent his early years in Colorado before moving to the Long Lane area. He graduated from high school in Buffalo. He then moved to Kansas City and began working as a mail carrier. He enrolled in cosmetology school to become a hair stylist. He then moved back to southwest Missouri where he was well known in Springfield and Lebanon areas as a hair stylist.

He loved raising vegetables in his garden. He was noted for his woodworking abilities. He built a playhouse that was featured in the Springfield News-Leader.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Webb; his step-father, Arthur Wilcox; one son, Blakely Gene Webb; and one sister, Jenlenne Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, of the home; two sons: Curtis Webb, Springfield, and Don Webb, Louisburg; two daughters: Danielle and Desirae Webb, both of the home; his mother, Helen Wilcox, Lebanon; two brothers: Jim and wife, Marty Webb, Clinton, and David Webb, Long Lane; plus other family and friends who will all sadly miss him.
