Mrs. Beatrice May Robbins
Mrs. Beatrice May Robbins, 79, R2 Carlisle, died at 7:13 p.m., Monday, September 13, 1982.
She was born May 10, 1903 in Oblong, Ill., to the late Fred and Lydia (Stifle) Gaines. She was a member of the Shaker Prairie Christian Church, the Rebekah Lodge and was a charter member of the Country Club. She was queen when Carlisle celebrated its Sesquicentennial in 1965. She was married April 8, 1922 to Donnel D. Robbins, who survives. She was preceded in death by twin girls, Esther and Hester, three sisters and one brother.
Suriviving besides her husband are five daughters, Frances Carrico, Osceola, Ind., Mrs. Sharon Pigg, Shelburn, Anna Jane Robbins, Sullivan and Betty Robbins and Lois Robbins, both of Carlisle; three sons, Bill and Jack, both of Carlisle and Bob, Sullivan; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Davis, Cape Coral, Fla., Mrs. Etta Goodman, Linton and Mrs. Mary Thornberry, Denver, Colo., one brother, Warren Gaines, Sullivan; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the Shaker Prairie Christian Church with the Rev. Harold Hatfield officiating. Burial will be in the Oddfellows Cemetery, Carlisle. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Gordon E. Utt Carlisle Chapel where a memorial service will be conducted 7 p.m. Thursday by the Rebekah Lodge.
