Edwin Walter Gregg, son of Louis and Elsie Allen Gregg, was born July 30, 1929, near Urich, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, September 3, 1994, in his home near Competition, Missouri, at the age of sixty-five years, one month, and three days.

On June 3, 1982, he was united in marriage to Coralee Wilson Tyre. He was preceded in death by his parents, his foster parents, Charles and Bessie Crist; a sister, Neoma Reece; and two brothers, Archie and Francis Gregg.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Coralee, of the home; a daughter, Glenda Marschall, of the state of California; three step-sons, Randy Stewart and William Haldeman, both of Joplin, Missouri, and Douglas Haldeman, of St. Louis, Missouri; a step-daughter, Melinda Stewart, of St. Louis, Missouri; a brother, Gerald Gregg, of Warsaw, Missouri; a half-sister, Merlene Hamilton, of Norborne, Missouri; three foster sisters, Jewell Ratliff, Edna Fern Mefford, and Alberta Estes, all of Arkansas City, Kansas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

He was raised by foster parents after the death of his parents, and lived his early years in the Appleton City area. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Following his military service, Edwin lived several years in Redding, California, where he worked in the building construction business. In 1975, he moved back to Missouri and purchased a farm near Competition.

The great love of his life was wildlife and animals and he enjoyed being outdoors.

Edwin was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends.
