On Friday, May 26, 2006 Paul B. Hamm, 79, left this earth to be with his heavenly Father. He was born on October 5, 1926 at Hanna, OK to B. G. and Annie (Parker) Hamm. He was a retired truck driver who loved to garden and fish.

Paul was united in marriage to Margaret Sparks on April 10, 1948. This union lasted for 58 years, even until Paul's passing. Paul was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 49 years. He served in the U. S.

Navy during WWII. Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a master gardener who never hesitated to share the fruits of his labor with friends, neighbors and patrons of the Katy Cafe. Paul was dearly loved by his family and many friends, and will be greatly missed. Preceding Paul in death were his parents, siblings Gladys Pendley, Garner Hamm, Elija Hamm, Grace Prater and son-in-law Dusty Duvall Sr.

Survivors include wife Margaret of the home; 4 children Harley & Shirley Hamm, Jimmy & Vickie Hamm, Irene Morton and Paul Hamm Jr. all of Checotah; 2 sisters Velma Thomason and Lilly Kirby both of Checotah; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 11:00 a. m. in the First Free Will Baptist Church, Checotah with Rev. Wayne Patton and Rev. Wayne Beshears officiating. Burial will follow in Hitchita Lackey Cemetery, Hitchita, with Rick Hamm, Kenny Pendley, James Harmon, Terry Sparks, Leonard Kirby and Rob Teague serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Manuel Self, Lindsey Chandler, J. K. Williams, Travis Duvall and Willie Crouch.

Daddy, we are so proud to have had you for our father. We will miss you forever. Please wait for us at Heavens gates, and we will meet you there. Love you forever.
