EDWARD F. ROGERS, JR., of Rives, TN. formerly of Bartlett, TN passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Alive Hospice of Nashville. He was retired from the United States Postal Service of Bartlett, was a member of Hornbeak Baptist Church, a devoted University of Tennessee football fan, traveling to home and away games for over twenty years and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict where he received the Korean Service Medal and United Nations Medal. Mr. Rogers is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Carolyn Rogers; daughter, Sheri Burdette of Covington, TN; son, Richard Rogers of Memphis; step-sons, Paul Bryan Miller of Southaven, MS. and Patrick Shawn Miller of Oakland, TN; sisters, Lena Dotson of Millington, TN. and Katie Taylor of Garland, TX; brothers, Jimmy Rogers of Mason, TN. and William Gray Rogers of Pilot Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Nathan Burdette, Jared Burdette, Daniel Rogers all of Covington, TN, Rachel Smith of Mason, TN, Syndee Rogers and Shelby Rogers both of Dyersburg, TN, Alex Miller of Southaven, MS, Matthew Miller of Oakland, TN and David Martin of Millington, TN; great grandchildren, Aaron Rogers, Colyn Rogers both of Covington, TN, Lauren Smith and John Ethan Smith both of Mason, TN. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 pm, Monday, July 21, and a funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, July 22, both at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel with the interment to follow at Memory Hill Gardens of Bartlett.
