HEALDTON -- Services for Mildred Pike Pearson, 88, will be at 2 p.m. today April 12, 2005, at the Pentecostal Holiness Church with Bro. Sid Bazzrea officiating. Interment will be at Mount Olive Cemetery under the direction of Spivey Funeral Home.
Born on June 6, 1916, in Lone Grove, Okla., to Steve and Ida Dunman Pike, Mildred departed this life and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 10, 2005, in Healdton.

She graduated from Healdton High School in 1934 and was a member of the Healdton Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved the Lord and she had a great love for God's people. Mildred enjoyed her many hours of work at Stone's IGA and the friendships she had with the employees who worked there through the years. She was a surrogate grandmother to the young people who worked after school and on weekends and kept in touch with many of them through the years. She and Cecil Pearson were married on June 7, 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 24, 1974; her parents; a brother, Willie D. Pike; five sisters, Ethel McElreath, Mable Ballew, Pearl Comby, Elnoia Pike and Wilbert Pike; a son and daughter-in-law, Cecil Glenn Pearson Sr. and Barbara Byram Pearson Van Hooser; a daughter-in-law, Carol Pearson; and a grandson, Lynn Pearson.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Kay and H.L. Mitchell, Wilson; four sons and daughters-in-law, Perry L. Pearson Sr. and wife, Alice, Oil City, Jerry Wayne and Anita Pearson, Blanchard, Robert S. Pearson Sr., Ames, and Ray and Marsha Pearson, Oil City; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Bearers will be grandsons, Bo Pearson, Mike Pearson, Chip Pearson, Gary Don Mitchell, Kelly Mitchell, Robbie Pearson and Scott Van Hooser.
