NEVADA JANE FOSTER
Nevada Jane Foster daughter of William H. and Mary C. Kenton was born September 29, 1876 in Hiawatha, Kansas, and passed from this life at her home in Russell June 29, 1940 at the age of 63 years and 9 months.
When but a child she came with her parents to Iowa where they located on a farm near Confidence. Almost 50 years ago the family moved to Russell where she has since resided.
Early in life she confessed Christ as her saviour, placing her membership with the Christian Church where she served as organist for a number of years.
On December 7, 1900 she was united in marriage to Harve G. Foster. To this union two sons were born, Dennis and Fred E.
Besides the sorrowing husband there remains to mourn her departure the two sons, Dennis of Chariton and Fred of Unionville, Mo., seven grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Ada Ashba of Russell, 2 brothers, John Kenton of Moravia and Martin Kenton of Russell, beside other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Foster had been in failing health for about a year and all that loving hands could do was done but to no avail. She was patient and kind in her suffering and she will be greatly missed in the home circle and among her many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Baptist Church conducted by Rev. A. E. Beals. Interment was made in the Russell Cemetery.
