Kris, along with a teacher's wife and 26 other members of the Yuba City High School Choir were killed when their bus lost it's brakes and went over the side of an offramp and fell to the highway below.
Known as "Kris", this very active sophmore had just celebrated her 16th birthday just 4 days before her death. She had taken piano lessons since the age of 7, played in the marching band, loved to act and sang in the choir. Classmates and friends remember and described her as a sunny, kind, and vivacious young lady. She served in the youth group with the Christian Center. Poised and enchanting, she and her new boyfriend played romantic leads in the school play that year.
Kris was killed instantly. Her boyfriend who was sitting next to her, survived. He told her goodbye before he crawled from the wreckage.
