He was a member of James L. Noble post, No. 3. Veterans of Foreign Wars, in this city and had been in the regular army, being among the first United States troops landed in France at the beginning of the World War.
The deceased was born in Cross Keys, Allegheny township, Oct. 4, 1899, a son of Aaron and Margaret (McCoy) Brubaker.
He is the grandson of the late Samuel Brubaker, Civil war veteran and well known resident of the Carson Valley district.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Brubaker, a native of Chicago, and two small children, James, Jr., aged 3, and Nancy Jane, aged 9 months.
These brothers and sisters also survive, in addition to his father, now residing in Chicago: C. C. Brubaker of Cross Keys, Mrs. Charles Kuhn of this city, Mrs. Paul Snyder of Hollidaysburg, Mrs. Ann Baker of Cross Keys and Dan and Aden Brubaker of Chicago.
The deceased had been assistant manager of the Fresh Food company in Chicago.
The remains will be taken to Decatur, Ill., for interment.
