Deceased Name: Henry Dodge Estabrook
Tarrytown, N. Y. Dec. 22. -- Henry Dodge Estabrook, prominent for many years as an attorney and formerly general solicitor for the Western Union Telegraph company and Republican candidate for the presidential nomination in 1916, died suddenly here tonight in a motion picture theater.

Apparently in good heath, he collapsed a few minutes after entering the theater and died in the lobby without regaining consciousness.

Mr. Estabrook was the son-in-law of Robert C. Clowry, former president of the Western Union company.

STORY OF HIS CAREER.

Henry Dodge Estabrook was born at Alden, N. Y., Oct. 29, 1854, the son of Experience and Caroline Augusta Estabrook. His father was attorney general of the territory of Nebraska in 1855.

Young Estabrook received his early education in the Omaha public schools and later was graduated from Washington university, St. Louis, in the class of 1875, with the degree of bachelor of laws. In 1880 he married Miss Clara Campbell Clowry of Omaha, in which city he practiced law until 1896, when he left for Chicago and became a member of the law firm of Lowden, Estabrook & Davis.

In 1902, on his appointment as solicitor for the Western Union Telegraph company, he removed to New York City. In 1911 he resumed his private practice as a member of the law firm of Noble, Estabrook & McHarg.

Candidate for Nomination.

In 1915 his friends in Nebraska took the initiative in an organized movement to make Mr. Estabrook a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, but early in 1916 he withdrew his name from the primaries, especially when Illinois appeared to be so strong for Senator Sherman, also a candidate at that time.

In New York he belonged to the Republican, Union League, Lotos, Pilgrims, Automobile of America, Ardsley, and Sleepy Hollow clubs.
