Vertie was the third of eleven children born to Steven Fletcher and Martha Jane (Raymer) Fletcher. She married Henry Theodore Price and they had five children: Alma Sue, Mary Frances, Doris Esebell, (Son) and Martha Ann.

Mrs. Vertie Price Wilson, 66, of 901-B Foushee St. died Thursday at Clapps Nursing Home after several months of declining health. She was a native of Iredell County and had lived in Greensboro since 1950. She was a retired textile worker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Stony Point Methodist Church, Stony Point, where she was a member.
Survivors are daughters, Mrs. Luther LaRue, with whom she made her home. Mrs. Frances James and Mrs. Raymond Lancaster, both of Greensboro and Mrs. Bobby Tucker of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sisters, Mrs. Charles Douglas of Barber, Mrs. Mary Ervin of Stony Point and Mrs. Alma Rhyne of Gastonia: brothers, Curlee Combs, James Combs and Lynex Combs, all of Stony Point, and Burley Combs of Statesville.
The body is at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Street Chapel, where the family will meet friends 7-9 p.m. today.
