Mrs. Catherine Irene Outterson Bernier of Ogdensburg former resident of Watertown, and widow of Alvin Lee Bernier. dropped dead about 12:30 yesterday afternoon at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. R. Sewall Parker 169 Flower avenue east, Watertown. while speaking by telephone with her daughter. Mrs. Leonard C. Nevin. Death was attributed to a heart condition.

Mrs. Bernier. who resided with a son. Alvin J. Bernier of Ogdensburg. had been visiting her cousin. Mrs. Esther I. Wylie, in Watertown, for two or three weeks. She had been ill for the last few days but her illness was not considered serious.

Apparently, she was recovering fiom her illness and was able to be out of doors. She was up yesterday morning as usual. A few minutes before her death she went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Parker, neighbors, to telephone her daughter. Mrs. Nevin.

She first talked with Mrs. Katherine Nevin, mother-in-law ot Mrs. Nevin, and than with her daughter. While talking with her daughter she was suddenly stricken and fell to the floor dropping the telephone receiver and striking her head a glancing blow on the kitchen table.

She was able to gasp, but expired almost instantly. Mrs. Parker summoned Dr. L. M. Vincent. He pronounced death due to heart condition.

Mrs. Bernier would have been 67 years old Thursday. She formerly resided at 505 Washington Street, Watertown. She is the mother of Mrs. Sue Bernier McDonald of Ogdensburg, formerly a teacher at Watertown High School.

She was born at Pulaski February 22, 1867 a daughter of Colonel James Thomas Outterson and Frances Jones Outterson.

Mrs. Bernier had resided with her son Alvin at Ogdensburg, since last August moving here from Watertown where she resided for six years. She went to Watertown from Canton where she lived for years. Among other places she lived were New York, Binghamton, Scranton and Hudson Falls.

She was married to Alvin Lee Bernier of Hudson Falls June 17, 1889 at the rectory of St. Patrick's church in Watertown. Mr. Bernier, a bookkeeper died in New York in 1914.

Surviving are seven children, James Thomas Bernier and Charles C. Bernier of Cleveland Ohio, Mrs. A. R. Park of Boston, Outterson G. Bernier of San Antonio Texas, Alvin Bernier of Ogdensburg, Mrs. A. W. McDonald of Ogdensburg and Mrs. Leonard C. Nevin of Watertown and a sister, Mrs. Frances Monte of Santa Monica California.
