Bonnie died in an swimming accident at Middle Dam west of Neodesha. {See article in the Neodesha Register, Thursday, July 3, 1958, pages 1 & 4; "Three Adults Drown At Middle Dam Sunday". The article contains her obituary on page 4.} The other two victoms were: Floyd Lavon Abel & Virginia Lee Adamson Ledford.

Obituary:
Funeral services for Bonnie Showalter will be held today, July 3, at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. the Rev. Herbert C. Brockman will officiate. Interment will be in the Neodesha cemetery.
Bonnie Kate Showalter was born November 10, 1921, at Independence, Kan., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Showalter. Her father died January 12, 1957, and a brother, Max N. Showalter, also preceded her in death on March 12, 1944.
She was a member of the Neodesha Methodist church and the local Rebekah lodge. She was a beauty operator.
Her mother, Mrs. Adelia Moore Showalter survives at the home at 1002 Tank Ave. Other survivors include two sisters: Mrs. Louree Wilson, Wichita; Mrs. Elizabeth Nuzman, Neodesha, and a brother, Charles L. Showalter, Jr., U.S. Air Force, Spokane, Wash.
