John Perry McDonald was the second child of John and Virginia Caroline McDonald and was born on April 26, 1885.
In 1909 Perry married Rosa Lee Alcorn at her home in Barwick, Georgia. Two years later they moved to the Cherry Creek Community of Lowndes County, where they lived until 1918, when they moved to Shiloh Community, Lowndes County.
Here they lived the rest of their lives.
Perry passed away on December 2, 1977 and his interred next to his wife, Rosa. They had six children.
