Anna Mary Beno, 90, of North Street, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 in Port Huron Hospital following a short illness.
She was born May 1, 1918 in Bannister, Michigan and had lived in North Street since 1957.
Anna married John F. Beno on October 22, 1938 in Bannister, Michigan. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1996.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Anna loved polka music and enjoyed canning and cooking the fruits and vegetables she harvested from the family farm.
Anna is survived by her sons, John P. Beno of North Street, Dr. James (Linda) Beno of Petoskey, Gerald (Barbara) Beno of Shelby Twp.; daughter, Mary (Barry) Wagner of North Street; grandchildren, Melissa Beno, Joy (Scott) Paquette, Jeffrey Beno, Gerald Beno II, Matthew Wagner and fiancee Elisabeth Altman, Timothy (Patricia) Beno, Leah Beno, Melanie Wagner and Steven Beno; and great-grandchildren, Colette, Isaac and Dakota Beno and Kara Paquette.
She was also preceded in death by her parents Martin and Mary Bohil and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Alain Mayama will officiate. Burial will follow in Kinney Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Anna's son Gerald and her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests memorials be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
