Andrew J. Grimes was the proprietor of a General Merchandise Store. He also was an Undertaker, Embalmer and Funeral Home Director in Woodville (Aquasco), Prince George's County, Maryland. His store and home are still standing in July 2012 but both are covered with vines and the property is overgrown.

On Thursday, June 8, 1950, at La Plata Hospital, La Plata, Md., Andrew J. Grimes, beloved husband of Margaret Ann (nee De Marr) Grimes, and father of John, Phillip, Eugene, and Henry Grimes, Emma G. White, Ruby G. Gimpel, Cora Lee Thornburg, Lucille G. Sellner, Ada G. Cooke, Eunice G. Parris, Inez G. Ripple and Sophia Grimes. Also survived by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Remains resting at Huntt & Ryon Funeral Home, Waldorf, Md, until 2 p.m. Friday, then will be at his home, Aquasco, Md. Services Saturday, June 10, 2:30 p.m. at Immanuel Methodist Church, Baden, Md. Interment church cemetery.
