Sister of Walters Resident Succumbs
Mrs. Martha Virginia Bass, 84, of Jonesville, died Thursday, Mar. 18 at 11:15 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Len Chevallier of Jonesville.
Funeral services were held Friday at 3 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove Baptist church with the Rev. Claudia Jenkins and the Rev. Donald Lemons officiating. Burial followed in Pentecost cemetery of Jena under the direction of Kinner and Stevens funeral home of Jena.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Len [Arzella] Chevallier and Mrs. Cam [Arvida] Edwards, both of Jonesville; one son, Jasper Bass of Jonesville; one brother, Dave Floyd of Pineville; two sisters, Mrs. Francis Hemphill of Winnfield and Mrs. Ed Chevallier of Walters; 12 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.
