1880 Akron Township Biographies; CALLERY PATRICK, farmer, Sec. 10, P. O. Akron, was born in Roscommon county, Ireland, Illinois attended school at Princeville. Farmington, December 7, 1827. His education was received in the schools of his native country. In 1840 emigrated to the United States and located in Saratoga county, N. Y., and the following year moved to Peoria county, Ill., and in 2/28/1859 LICENSE # 4787 Vol II pg 188 married Miss Bridget Fulton, a native of the same place of husband. She died in 1863, leaving two children - one son and one daughter. In 1868 he married Miss Mary C. Fay b.1834 d.11/1/1899, a native of county Mayo, Ireland. Owns 160 acres of fine, fertile land as Akron affords. Democratic in politics, and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He is a school director, and is one of the well-to-do farmers of the county. 1902 Akron Township Biographies; Callery, Patrick; Retired Farmer; born in County Roscommon, Ireland, March 3, 1833; educated in his native country. His parents, Patrick and Honour (Coleman) Callery, were also natives of Ireland. Patrick Callery was married to Bridget Fulton, in Peoria County, 1858. They have two children, John and Mary E. John, born in Akron Township, was educated there; is a farmer and occupies a part of the home farm. He married Kate McDonna, of Akron Township and they have five children: Frank J., Edward, Mary E., Theo and Redmond P. Mary E. is the wife of Michael J. McDonna of Akron Township, and they have six children: Kate, James, Sarah E., Marie, John and Lucile. Mr. Callery came to the United States in 1852, and worked on a farm until 1859. During this time he saved enough money to purchase his first eighty acres of the best land in Akron Township. He moved to Princeville Village on Clark Street in 1891. His Sister Mary Ann married John Brennan before leaving Ireland. John Brennan farmed for a time in Akron Township in Peoria County, then Gridley Township, McLean County. John and Mary Ann (Callery) Brennan traveled to America with another couple from County Roscommon, Ireland; John and Margareth (Hayes) O'Connor. His sister Bridget married Joseph Ebbitt in Peoria County.
