Roxana Grover Niles was born at Johnsburg, N. Y., October 5, 1852, and died at Plainfield, N. J., October 30, 1924.
She was married to Lewis W. Niles, May 19, 1873, at Wellsville, N. Y. For several years during their early married life they lived in Alfred, N. Y. In 1896, they came to Plainfield, when Mr. Niles was employed in the Sabbath Recorder office, where he worked for many years.
In early life Mrs. Niles was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She joined the First Alfred Seventh Day Baptist Church in 1893. She was a consistent Christian all her life, and died in the triumphs of the faith.
She leaves to mourn their loss her aged companion and their four children: Belle, the wife of George Wooden of Lambertville, N. J.; William J. of Geneva, Ind.; Archie G., of Dunellen, N. J., and James L. of Plainfield. There are also thirteen grandchildren.
Farewell services were conducted by Rev. Ahva J. C. Bond of Plainfield with burial in Hillside Cemetery.
