Marjorie A. "Marge" Hunt, 91, of St. Paul, died at 10:30 p.m., Sunday, September 9, 2007, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul. She had been in failing health.
She was born April 19, 1916, in Mound Valley, to Ralph E. and Alese (Gaither) Edson. She grew up and attended schools in the Mound Valley and Altamont areas, graduating from Labette County Community High School in 1934. She then continued her education by attending Parsons Junior College and Pittsburg State University.

She taught for 12 years in Labette County country schools before becoming a nurse's aide at Coffeyville Memorial Hospital and later Labette County Medical Center where she retired following 24 years of service.

She and Robert W. Hunt were married June 14, 1941, in Chetopa. Following marriage, they lived in the Bartlett area and Altamont before moving to St. Paul in 1988, where she had lived since.

Mrs. Hunt enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was pianist and organist at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul where she was also a member. Other memberships included the South Mound Friendship Club, AARP and Farm Bureau. SURVIVORS: One Daughter - Nancy Wood St. Paul, KS Six Grandchildren – Jeri Giefer St. Paul, KS Darren Doherty and his wife, Anita Girard, KS Jeff Wood St. Paul, KS Brandi Irish and her husband, Casey Girard, KS Roberta Ward and her husband, Mike Erie, KS Tommy Rice Kansas City, KS Fourteen Great-Grandchildren One Sister - Susan Foss and her husband, Merle of St. Charles, MO

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Hunt, in September 1991; one daughter, Helen Shelton; and two brothers, Richard Edson and Jack Edson.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. Burial will be in Lake Creek Cemetery in Bartlett. The family will receive friends from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Paul United Methodist Church. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
