ACKERMAN, MARCELLA RUTH, 88, of Louisville, died Thursday at the residence of her daughter. She was the former Marcella Schamore, a member of Southeast Christian Church, Middletown Senior Citizens and a former member of Lynnhurst United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert A. Ackerman and grandson, Matthew Blaine Pierce. She is survived by her devoted family, daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Dr. A Deane Pierce; two granddaughters, Laurie Pierce McDonald and her husband, Dr. Mark McDonald, and Erin Beth Pierce; great-granddaughter, Madeline Blaine McDonald; and great-grandson, Blake Matthew McDonald; a brother, Paul E,. Schamore; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Pkwy., with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. Sunday at Pearson-Ratterman Bros. Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Rd. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Matt Pierce Scholarship Fund at St. Xavier High School, Ursuline Campus Schools Capital Campaign or Southeast Christian Church Support Ministry
