A physician, Dr. McClimans practiced in obstetrics and gynecology for 35 years and was a partner in the former Bashline Hospital in Grove City.
He attended Kirksville (Mo.) College of Osteopathic Medicine; and Thiel College, Greenville, where he played basketball; and completed post-graduate studies at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Ind.
Dr. McClimans was a Rotarian, a Shriner and a Free and Accepted Mason. He was an accomplished scratch golfer, a former president of Grove City Country Club and a charter member of Cove Cay Country Club in Clearwater.
He is survived by: his wife, the former Jane Lee Harrison; three sons, Leslie A. McClimans II and his wife Tracy, Nashville, Tenn.; Dr. Frederick J. McClimans and his wife Jane, Tampa, Fla.; and Gregory S. McClimans and his wife Rebecca, Clearwater; a daughter, Betty Jo Moses and her husband Jimmy, Little Rock, Ark.; and a brother, Dr. Gordon A. McClimans, Flint, Mich. He also leaves: 12 grandchildren, Jamie Moses III and Christopher Moses; Dr. Leslie McClimans III, Jason McClimans, Fredrick McClimans Jr.; Tyson, Memori Jane and Ali McClimans; Gregory S. McClimans II; and Ella Jane, Alexis Joy and Harrison C. McClimans; and six great-grandchildren, Catie Lee, Sarah Gibs, Nanne Caroline, and Harrison Alexander McClimans; and Aidan Moses and James Moses IV. Dr. McClimans was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Robert A. McClimans.
