Kara Lynn Holt, 29, of Gibson City, and granddaughter of Gilman residents, died Thursday (Jan. 24, 2008) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, following an auto accident in Champaign as Kara was enroute to her job when her car was hit by a "DRUNK DRIVER".
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until the 11:30 a.m. memorial service at the Zion United Church of Christ in Gilman. The Rev. Connie Williams Moodie will officiate.
Memorials may be made to her son, Ryland.

Kara was born Sept.20, 1978 in Watseka Illinois the daughter of Jon and Donna (Strohschein) Holt.
Her childhood was spent in Gibson City. She was a 1996 graduate of Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School and she attended Parkland College for two years.
Surviving are one son, Ryland, at home; her parents Jon & Donna Holt of Gibson City; one brother and sister-in-law, Kory and Justine Holt of Rantoul; maternal grandmother, Sharon Strohschein of Gilman; paternal grandmother, Jean Holt of Gilman; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Deceased are her maternal grandfather, Thomas F. Strohschein; paternal grandfather, Jack Holt; and paternal great-grandmother, Flossie Focken all of whom Kara adored.
