Mr. Warren Lee Davis Jr., 55, of Frederick, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, at his home.Born Dec. 13, 1945, in Cumberland, he was a son of the late Warren L. and Betty Louise Reid Davis. Mr. Davis was a social worker from 1967 to 2001. He was supervisor of Child Protective Services for Frederick County, and a former employee of the Allegany County Department of Social Services. He was a therapist for Catholic Charities of Central Maryland from 1994 to 1996 and a group support leader for the Maryland Lupus Foundation in Frederick. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a 1963 graduate of Allegany High School and received his bachelor of arts degree in sociology and anthropology from Gettysburg College in 1967, where he minored in psychology and biology. He received his master's degree in social work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work, Baltimore, in 1982. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Cumberland; Alpha Chi Rho social fraternity, Phi Kappa Phi honor fraternity and was listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Fraternities. He became a member of the Maryland Classified Employees Association (MCEA), chapter 060, in 1967 and later became an officer of MCEA.

Surviving are one son, Brian J.T. Davis of Frederick; one daughter, Meghan K.P. Davis of Key West, Fla.; and one grandson, Lachlan Victor Castro-Davis of Frederick; three cousins, Mary Jo Kraft of Baltimore, Earl Douglas of Atlanta, and David G. Rice of Cumberland. He is also survived by his former spouse, Sandy T. Trilling; and friends Linda C. Boor, and Patsy and Bob Trilling.

Friends may call at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday, Dec. 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 406 Arch St., Cumberland, on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Mark C. Dill officiating. Friends may call at the church from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
