Roger M. Spindler, 66, of Newton, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at his home.
He was born October 27, 1941 in the Town of Russell, son of the late Roland & Alice Hummitzsch Spindler.
Roger attended school in the Town of Russell.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army proudly serving his country from 1959-1963.
Roger had previously worked at Knowles Mfg, Gilson Brothers and Howards Grove Auto Body. He had been employed at Stoelting Mfg. for 28 years retiring in 2006.
Roger was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, Spring Valley.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, fishing, gardening, cooking, riding his motorcycle and working & tinkering with his cars. He further enjoyed spending time with his buddies and many friends.
Survivors include his children: Christy (Randy) Staeven, Pulaski, Kay (Mike) Gonnering, WA, Kelly (Jeff) Muehlbauer, Elkhart Lake, Karie Maxey and fiancé, Jeremy Ladwig, Newton and twelve grandchildren, Zachary, Keisha, Wyatt, Brett, Brandy, Bradley, Brittany, Breanna, Jacob & Justin, Alivia & Bradley. He is further survived by one sister, Priscilla (Robert) Goethke, Tigerton and two brothers, Gary Spindler, Howards Grove, Russell (Kristi) Spindler, rural Elkhart Lake, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Daniel.
