Lucinda Mortimore Succumbs at 73

Mrs. Lucinda Mortimore, 73, a Clarkston resident for the last 27 years, died yesterday morning at 2:57 at the Riverview Sanitarium. She had been in ill health for several years and had been a patient at the sanitarium for four days.

She was born Lucinda Platt, Aug. 1884 at Newaygo, Mich. She came west with other members of the family when she was 12. After a brief stop in Washington the family moved to Melrose, Idaho.

She grew to adulthood there and was married to O.A. Mortimore at Melrose on Christmas Day 1904.

Mr. and Mrs. Mortimore had made their home at Clarkston after 1931. She lived at 945 2nd St. Mr. Mortimore died here in May, 1938.

Surviving are two sons, Earl Mortimore and Roy Mortimore, both of Clarkston; four sisters, Mrs. Erwin Ulrich, Mrs. Joe Zimmerman and Mrs. Lawrence Stamper, all of Spokane, and Mrs. Glenn Stewart of Stanfield, Ore.; a brother, Dalla Platt of Washougal; one grandchild, and a foster sister, Mrs. Madge Olson, whose address in unknown.

Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow morning at 10 at Merchant Chapel. The Rev. Robert M. Chamness, pastor of the Clarkston First Presbyterian Church will officiate, and burial will be at Vineland Cemetery.
