His burial card lists both sergeant and aviation cadet; a handwritten note indicates aviation cadet was the highest rank reached. Service data includes 4th Emergency Rescue Squadron, Mid-Pacific Air Corps.

His son, Larry Otis Anderson, was born the month before he died. That young man died in an aircraft accident.
