Son of Benjamin Stuart Walcott and Mary Dexter. Married twice. First to Anne Witherspoon Greene in 1822 in Pawtucket RI and had 3 children. Anne died in 1832 at age 29. In 1835 he married Amelia Ames Wheelock and had 4 more children. His passport lists his height at 5' 7and 1/2". He was a cotton cloth manufacturer in Pawtucket and later Providence.
