Alfred Arthur Hall, 70, a resident of Hermiston since 1917, passed away at his home in Hermiston Saturday night, April 24. For many years, Hall had been employed as an irrigation and maintenance man for the city. Funeral services for the well-liked pioneer were held Tuesday at Burns Mortuary Chapel with burial at the city cemetery.
Alfred Arthur was the firstborn to Peter Eugene Hall and Mary Anne (McCanne) Hall in Fort Worth, Texas on Sep 9, 1861. He married Katie Hunt Smith April 18, 1882 in Parker County Texas. Survivors are his wife, Mrs Katie Hall of Hermiston; his mother, Mary Ann Hall of Walla Walla; sons, James Carl Hall of Hermiston and Edward Eugene Hall of Yakima; a daughter, Mrs Dorothy Blower of Hermiston; three brothers, Edward Leon of Walla Walla, Herbert LeRoy of Seattle and James Calvin of Sumner,WA, and a sister Mary Alice Gertrude Hunt of Tekoe, Wash; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Peter Eugene Hall of Hermiston in 1941, and numerous sisters and brothers.
