Hattie, a long-time resident of Fairfield, passed away unexpectedly in Mississippi on July 30, 2008.
She was a homemaker for over 40 years and she loved to collect family photos. She enjoyed gardening as well. For three years, she was a waitress at the old downtown Woolworth's store on Texas Street. It was there that she met many of her long-time friends.
Hattie was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest James Moore in 1999; two daughters, Shirley King and Pollie Moore; and a son, Arthur.
She is survived by her two daughters, Eva Moore (Raymond Bailey) and Jan Smith (Walter) of Fairfield; three sons, Ernest Moore (Johnna) of Redding, Steven Moore (Maria), and John Moore of Suisun City; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister in San Diego; three sisters in Mississippi; and three brothers in Mississippi.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6 at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, also at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Fairmont Memorial Park immediately following the service.
