Floyd Cable
Floyd E. Cable Sr., of 5001 Plan Road, Franklin Township, died at 8 a.m. today (June 30, 1969) in Citizens General Hospital, New Kensington, after a lengthy illness.
A native of Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Lawrence W. and Mary Spencer Cable.
A resident of Franklin Township area most of his life, Mr. Cable was employed as a truck driver by Pittsburgh Post Gazette before he retired two years ago. In his early years, he was a self-employed dairy farmer.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mable Hemphill Cable; two sons, Floyd E. Jr. of Franklin Township and Lawrence of Apollo; two daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Dorothy) Fish of Murrysville and Mrs. Karl (Alberta) Finger of Newark, Del; three brothers: Laurie of Plum, Albert of Franklin Township and Miles of Unity, two sisters, Mrs. Homer (Lois) Carson of Lower Burrell and Mrs. Chris (Nellie) Wilker of Butler; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A son Walter Cable died Jan 28, 1968. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Ross G. Walker Funeral Home, 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. P. D. Stonebreaker of Holiday Park Wesleyan Methodist Church, will officate. He will be assisted by his son-in-law, the Rev. Ronald R. Mayhle, pastor of New Bethlehem Wesleyan Methodist Church. Burial will be in the family lot in Plum Cemetery, Plum.
On his World War I Draft Registration Card it says he was born North Side, Pittsburgh.
