Nason married Mary Elizabeth Tolman on Dec. 22, 1869 at Plano, Kendall County, Illinois. Mary was the daughter of Alonzo G. Tolman and Almira Hart.

In 1872 Nason Moses Tenney's occupation was dairy farming, general farming, and stock raising on his 300 acres of rich and beautiful farm land. Nason lived one and a half miles north of the town and had owned the Tenney Homestead Dairy.
In 1886 worked in the real estate business, dealing in lands in Minnesota and Nebraska.
Nason had a natural mechanical ingenuity and was an inventor. Two examples below:
Nason Moses Tenney and Orville M. BUNNELL-inventors of an attachment to a Stock Pump which is a machine used for pumping water into railroad tank cars.
