"PLEASANTVILLE MAN PASSES AWAY SUNDAY - Although Leslie G Chase Had Been Failing For Some Time End Comes Suddenly - Leslie G Chase, nearly 72 years of age and for thirty years a resident of Pleasantville and vicinity, passed away quite suddenly at the state hospital in Warren, at 9:47 o'clock Sunday morning. Although Mr Chase had been in failing health for some time, the end came unexpectedly and as a distinct shock to members of the family and [a] large circle of friends. Mr Chase was the son of Jabez and Sarah Chase and was born in Mead township, Crawford county, on June 30, 1856. He grew to manhood in that community and on May 8, 1874, at Blooming Valley, he was united in marriage with Miss Julia Howard of Townville, who survives him. They began housekeeping on a farm in Steuben township and about 30 years ago located in the vicinity of Pleasantville. Mr Chase was a man of sterling character, kind and loving in his family, courteous and obliging as a neighbor and friend. Besides the widow he is survived by a daughter, Miss Mina Chase of Pleasantville, and two sons, Warren Chase of Bradford and Samuel Chase of Jerusalem Corners. The body was brought to this city today, being taken to the W J Arnold mortuary and later removed to the family home in Pleasantville, where services will be conducted privately at 10:30 am, Tuesday, Rev Victor Bucher officiating. The interment will be made in the Jerusalem Corners' cemetery."
