Hugh F. Anderson, Sr.
BEEBE, Ark. - Hugh F. "Snooky" Anderson Sr., 44, died Monday at home.
He was born in Barnwell, S.C. and attended schools in Beebe and Guyton, Ga. He had also attended Effingham County High School and graduated from Jenkins High School in Savannah. He attended Armstrong State College, where he majored in history. He had worked in the shipping department at Sears, the John Travis Co., Spartan Motor Line Terminal and was manager of Thurston Motor Line Terminal. He was a towel line operator at Fort Howard for the past eight years until moving to Arkansas.
Survivors: his wife, Patricia Anderson of Beebe; a son, Hugh F. Anderson Jr. of Newington; his mother, Julia Folkner of Savannah; his father an step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Anderson of Cabot, Ark.; two sisters, Ruthie A. Faircloth of Martinez and Ginger Anderson of Savannah; his brother, Nicky Hobbs of North Hollywood, Calif.; a stepsister, Debbie Muerer of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two stepbrothers, Tim and Robbie Muerer of McRae, Ark.; a number of aunts and uncles and a number of cousins.
Funeral services were held in Arkansas by W. L. Westbrook Funeral Home of Beebe.
VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Thomas C. Strickland Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel.

ADDITIONAL FUNERAL SERVICE: 3 p.m. Friday at Thomas C. Strickland Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel burial in Guyton Cemetery.

Anderson, Sr. - Hugh F. "Snooky" Anderson, Sr. 44, native of Barnwell, SC, ended his life in Beebe, Arkansas on Monday, April 14, 1997. He had attended schools in Beebe, Arkansas and in Guyton, Ga.
As A child, he had attended Effingham County High School and graduated from Jenkins High School in Savannah. He attended Armstrong State College where he majored in History. He had worked in Sears Shipping Dept., in shipping with the John Travis Company, the Spartan Motor Line Terminal and as manager of the Thurston Motor Line Terminal. For the past eight years until his recent move to Arkansas, he was a towel line operator at Fort Howard.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Anderson of Beebe, Arkansas;; his son, Hugh F. Anderson Jr. of Newington; his mother, Julia Folkner of Savannah; his father an step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Anderson of Cabot, Ark.; two sisters, Ruthie A. Faircloth of Martinez and Ginger Anderson of Savannah; his brother, Nicky Hobbs of North Hollywood, Calif.; a step-sister, Debbie Muerer of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two step-brothers, Tim and Robbie Muerer of McRae, Ark.; and many aunts and uncles and cousins, most of whom live in the Coastal Empire.
Funeral services were held in Arkansas by W. L. Westbrook Funeral Home of Beebe.
Local visitation will be held Thursday, from 7-9 p.m. at the Thomas C. Strickland Funeral Home.
Local funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Thomas C. Strickland Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Nathan Godley of the White Bluff United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in the plot of his grandparents, Earl and Ruth V. Bazemore, in the Guyton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Allen Bazemore II, Earl Bazemore III, Cordell Bazemore, Skippy Scott, Ray Nease, Victor Bellagorsks, Jr., Arte Rahn, Jr., David Evans, Craig Neidlinger, Joey Torres and Chris Torres.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fort Howard Co-Workers.
