FORT WORTH - Philip Ruben Bernstein, retired former owner of Phil Bernstein Trucking Co., died Tuesday in Fort Worth. He was 69.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Kornbleet Chapel in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery. Burial will be in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery.

Robertson Mueller Harper Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bernstein was born in Fort Worth and was a lifelong resident. He was a cheerleader and member of the first graduating class of Arlington Heights High School and had attended the University of Texas at Austin.

Mr. Bernstein was a Navy veteran of World War II.He was a Mason and a member of "The 400" at Ridglea Country Club.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Congregation Ahavath Sholom or a favorite charity.

Survivors, all of Fort Worth: Wife, Ruth Weisblatt Berstein; two daughters, Adrea Bernstein Deems and Shellye Bernstein Wright; brother, David Bernstein; and three grandchildren.
