Louisa Catherine Coulter was the daughter of Philip J. Coulter and Margaret Ploch. She was born in Robinson Tonwship, Crawford Co., Illinois on April 14, 1873 and departed this life June 2, 1956 at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 17 days. She was united in marriage to Jesse H. Stahl, September 26, 1898 who preceded her in death, April 3, 1943. To this union was born four children, Lawrence J., who died October 25, 1954; Esther Haughey at home; Dora Nicol of West Union, IL and Mary Orthwein of Findlay, OH. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. Stahl was a member of the Prairie Methodist Church and had lived in that community for 50 years. Ten brothers and sisters preceded her in death, she being the last surviving member of her family. Funeral services were held Monday June 4 at the Marshall Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leland Hooper officiating. Interment was in Prairie Cemetery.
