Korean National Activist. He was one of the first Korean immigrants to Colorado. He first came to the US in 1900 to study at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. He then returned to Korea and established a mining school. He returned in the US in 1906 and rose to be a leader of the Korean independence movement in Colorado. He was looking forward to present his views at the 1908 Democratic Convention in Denver, however he was murdered before he could. They never found the killer. The Korean American Association performed a ceremony in 2007 to honor him and they erected a new headstone. 50 people attended the ceremony including South Korean Consul General Koo Bon-woo.
