Mildred "Millie" L. Scudder, 88, died at 5:20 A. M., Thursday, July 26 2007 at the Merkle-Knipprath Nursing Home, Clifton, IL. where she was a resident following an extended illness.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 30, 2007 at the Redenius Funeral Home with Rev. Connie Williams Moodie officiating. Burial will be in the Gilman Cemetery, Gilman. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the Redenius Funeral Home, Gilman, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Gilman Historical Society or Donor's Choice.

Millie was born on August 20, 1918 in Gilman, IL to Frank & Blossom (Buss) Barney. Millie was born and lived in the same home all her life. Her home was honored as a Commemorative site in 1980 called "Barney's Corner" where old friends meet during Old Boys & Girls Reunions.

Millie married H. J. "Jim" Scudder on January 29, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan. He died on May 6, 1977. Survivors include one daughter - Judy &(Jerry) Kimmel. One son - Jim Scudder all of Gilman, IL. Two grandsons - Mark and Michael Green of Florida Pre-decedents - her parents, husband, daughter - Judith Green, two sisters, Fran Bohl and Jessie Prewitt. One brother - Elmer.

Millie was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Gilman, IL. Other memberships were with the Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, and Women of the Moose.

A Restaurant owner and operator, she managed the Grey Hound Bus Stop, Skelly's Truck Stop, was a cook and waitress at Sad Sacks for Bill Cox and the Moose Lodge with all establishments being in Gilman, IL.
Millie enjoyed dancing, cooking and baking.
