Dwight Everett was born November 23, 1944 in Chapel Hill, Texas to William James and Georgia Lucille Hill Everett. He was 51 years old at the time of his death.

He graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 1963, then graduated with honors from Tyler Junior College in 1966 and attended U.T. - Tyler. He was drafted into the Army for two years in August, 1966, during the Vietnam War, but was stationed at Ludwigsburg, Germany as a medic.

He married Elaine Marie Hearon, of Whitehouse, Sept. 9, 1967. He lived in Whitehouse for 24 years.

He worked as a young man for Texas Power & Light, then later as a surveyor for the Texas Highway Dept. When he became disabled, he was working for U.S.I Film Products in Tyler.

He died February 17, 1996 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, with a neuromuscular disease, after an extended illness that he had suffered with for approximately 21 years.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Elaine, of 29 years, Whitehouse, his son, Kerry Dwaine Everett, Whitehouse, his parents, W. J. (Jim) & Georgia Everett, Chapel Hill, brother, Roger Dale Everett, Chapel Hill, brother Billy Don Everett and wife, Joan, Overton, his mother and father-in-law, Leroy and Opal Hearon, Whitehouse, and seven nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Cottle Funeral Home, Troup, with burial in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Bro. Lewis Bell conducted the services. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Chapel Hill.

Pallbearers included Johnny Culpepper, Gary Kelly and nephews.
