The daughter of Lieut. John & Elizabeth (Peck) Merriman, she married Moses Atwater on Dec. 28, 1722 in Wallingford, Conn. Known children: Abigail (Atwater) Hotchkiss, Sarah Atwater, Moses Atwater, Jr., Mercy Atwater.
She was the granddaughter of my ancestors, NATHANIEL & JOAN MERRIMAN and great granddaughter of WILLIAM & ELIZABETH PECK.
Sarah and her sisters Elizabeth and Mary all died young in 1732. This was most likely due to a smallpox epidemic.
