Daily Jeffersonian - Jan 26, 1942: Byesville, Jan. 26 - Funeral services for Homer O. King, 48, former resident of this place, who died early Sunday (25th) at Mercey Hospital, Canton, following surgical treatment, will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs. James D. Sills, this place. Rev. Mr. Hillman, Warren, will conduct the rites and burial will be made in Greenwood cemetery.

Mr. King resided in Byersville until last fall when he moved to Canton. He had been employed at the Mapleton Clay Plant, near Canton. Surviving are his widow; one son, Jack of home; two brothers, John, Cumberland and George, Cambridge, and two sisters, Mrs. Harry Leasure, Naretta and Mrs. Saul Moorehead, Senecaville.

The body was prepared for burial at the Herlan funeral home.
