Iona Curtis, age 95 of Atkins, died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at the Atkins Nursing Center. A daughter of the late James Albert and Mary Jane Williams Curtis, she was born November 10, 1906, in Pope County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Clebert Curtis; six brothers, Arvel (Bob), Calvin, Daniel, Fieldon, Marion, and Richard; four sisters, Ellen, Tildy, Dicey and Nettie.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Bob Curtis, of Russellville, Ronnie and James Curtis of Appleton, Paul Curtis of Atkins, and Adona Chronister of Hector, and a daughter-in-law, Eva Snow of Appleton; sixteen great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2002, at the Shiloh Cemetery, near Atkins, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Pallbearers are Wesley Curtis, Ronnie Curtis Jr., Billy Curtis and B.J. Reid. Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Atkins Nursing Center and Dina Hall.
