Funeral services for Jesse Winfield Hammond, 77, were held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at his home in Lexington. Rev. E. C. Craig officiated and interment was in Lexington Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home directing arrangements. He died yesterday afternoon at his home. He was a lifelong resident of this area. Surviving are his wife, Sara; his daughters, Eliza Ann "Lida" Pierce of Appleton, Tennessee, and Mary Alice Smith and Sarah Ellen Eastep, both of Athens; and his sons, Albert Moses Hammond, Jasper Calvin Hammond, and Jesse Walton Hammond, all of Lexington.
