Alejandro H. Peña, Sr. entered into rest on February 27, 2007 at the age of 82. He was born February 11, 1925 in San Antonio, the son of Aniceto and Genovevea Peña. Mr. Peña was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a long time parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church. Mr. Peña had deep seated Christian values which he passed on to his family and friends. He was the Scout Master of Troop 667, which had the only Drum & Bugle Corp in the Alamo Area Council. He served in the United States Army and retired from Kraft Foods after 40 years of service. Mr. Peña touched many lives and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Peña in December of 1991. Survivors include his children, Alejandro H. Peña, Jr. & his wife Maria, Joe G. Peña & his wife Helen; sisters, Elida Quintanilla of Floresville, Beatrice Peña - Ybarra of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Jay and Sara; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Roy Akers Zizik Kearns Funeral Chapels with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The funeral procession will depart 12:30 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2007 for a 1:00 p.m., Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, 1147 Cupples Rd. 78226.
