Mr. William Grecian was a Surgeon who practiced in Sunderland, Durham, England, until his death in 1846. He studied at The Edinburgh University, and was there when the Burke-Hare Scandal in erupted in 1827-28.. He married Catherine Rand of Bishop Middleham, on March 1, 1829. They had 5 children together. Thomas, b. 1829, Mary Jane, 1832, Catherine, b.1833, Margaret Rand, B.1835, and, William, b.1839. He died in Sunderland, after an illnesses of several weeks on October 28, 1846, at the young age of 40 years old.
