M.E. Dixon Funeral Friday
Services for M.E. Dixon, who died Tuesday following a brief illness, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Glenwood Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Terrell Earnest officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. He was 79.
Mr. Dixon was a lifelong resident of Warren County, and owned and operated Standard Oil Service Stations in the city and later in the County. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Maggie Leist Dixon of Vicksburg, four daughters: Mrs Vera Snow of Wooster, Ohio, Mrs. Bobbie Dunn, Mrs. Doris Williams, and Mrs. Martha Boone of Vicksburg, three sons: Maurice Dixon, JR. of Waco, Texas, Lonnie Ray Dixon of St. Louis, Mo, James E Dixon of Vicksburg, 22 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Herman Alford, Tom Allen, Gene Williams, Excell Dunn, David Boone, and Homer Herring.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Kelly, Robert Cunningham, Joe Durst, George E Abraham, Joe Odom, Dr. Joe Ross, Dr. Robert Shell, and Dr. Briggs Hopson.
