Tom was born Nov. 11, 1966 in Watseka Illinois to Richard and Loretta (Hedrick) Chase.

He spent his childhood in Gilman, graduated in 1984 from Iroquois West High school and was a maintenance worker with Armstrong World Industries,Kankakee.

Tom married Michel Lavoie June, 15, 1991 in Gilman. She survives.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church,Gilman and ABATE Motorcycle club.

Besides his wife he is survived by parents, Loretta Chase of Gilman and Richard and Gladys Chase of Gilman, maternal grandmother, Byrtle Webster of Pekin; one sister, Carla Earles of Kankakee and two nieces.

Tom was preceded in death by his brother Robert E. Chase, maternal grandfather Jessie Hedrick, and paternal grandparents Robert and Elizabeth Chase.

Services were held Wednesday, June 22, in the Redenius Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Manigold officiating and burial in the Gilman Cemetery.

Pallbearers were, Terry Miller, Vaughn Borchers, Billy Short, John Zirkle, Kent Youngs, Doug Hanes, Mark Brewer and Bob Blackwood.

Tom died at the scene of a motorcycle accident 1/4 mile east of Onarga. A local resident who was running observed the motorcycle in the ditch on the north side of the road, stopped to look, and observed a person laying beside the motorcycle. The runner flagged down a motorist, who notified the Sheriff's office at 8:44 .m. and the Onarga EMT's and Sheriff's police went to the scene.
